Proteine, Präbiotika und Antioxidantien aus Brauresten
Wissenschaftler der TU Bergakademie Freiberg untersuchen in einem laufenden Forschungsprojekt, wie Proteine, Präbiotika, Lipide und Antioxidantien aus Treberpresswasser filtriert und extrahiert werden können. Gelingt es, die Nährstoffe in reiner Form zu gewinnen, ergeben sich ganz neue Verwertungspfade für den Biertreber, das mengenmäßig größte Nebenprodukt im Brauprozess.

Universität gedenkt Ehrensenator Kohlstock
Am 17. Juli dieses Jahres verstarb Dr.-Ing. habil. Harald Kohlstock, Ehrensenator der TU Bergakademie Freiberg, wenige Tage vor seinem 82. Geburtstag. Er war rund 40 Jahre eine wichtige Stütze der Verwaltung der Universität.

3D printing for a more powerful electric motor
Using a new 3D printing process, four spin-offs of the EXIST research transfer "Additive Drives" at the TU Freiberg are increasing the performance and efficiency of current electric machines. The main focus is on the copper coil.

Corona Relief Fund: Over 104,000 euros in donations for students in need
By the beginning of July this year, the Association of Friends and Sponsors of TU Bergakademie Freiberg had received over 104,000 euros in donations from a total of 241 donors in the Corona Relief Fund. The money can now be used to process further funding applications.

Virus spread by micro-droplets
Viruses spread primarily via droplets. How the smallest of these droplets spread when singing, speaking or breathing in closed, unventilated rooms is being analyzed by researchers at TU Bergakademie Freiberg together with the University Medical Center Leipzig and the St. Georg Hospital. System for robot-assisted inland water monitoring successfully tested
Scientists of TU Bergakademie Freiberg have developed a robot which is able to measure water and environmental parameters on inland waters. Recently, the research group has been successfully testing the swimming device for the first time on a lake in the centre of the Saxon city.

Package greetings to the Diamond Diploma
With a jubilee certificate and a historical group photo, TU Bergakademie Freiberg honours eleven graduates of the field of study "Gasfach" of the 1960 graduating class. 60 years after their graduation, the alumni thus receive their Diamond Diploma.
